2024 CCSO Award Recipient

We are thrilled to announce that an OFSC volunteer has won the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO) Outstanding Excellence Award for Tourism! The award is presented to an individual or organization in recognition of their efforts to implement an initiative that increases participation from snowmobilers and/or non-snowmobilers within a region. And John is certainly very deserving for in efforts in raising the profile of snowmobiling.

Being involved in organized snowmobiling for over 30 years, John Enright cares passionately about the club and about anything snowmobiling related. That enthusiasm shines through in his communication skills. John is respectful, understands the impact of his words and pulls the  team together through the good as well as the challenging times. He is not afraid to push the envelope and embrace new opportunities, which in turn creates a positive and energetic team atmosphere. Accomplishing all the tasks and meeting the goals takes a strong leader who is a good communicator.

John has been consistent in updating the club’s website and Facebook page with predominantly original content. Thoughtful, informative and engaging updates on a variety of snowmobiling related topics are posted several times a week, with captions and links to go along with each  photo. His contributions reach, and are valued by, young fans, new business supporters, and new volunteers. In addition, he represents the club in online and in-person tourism related meetings and is instrumental in the club’s “Giving Back” fundraiser.

Communication initiatives for Haliburton County Snowmobile Association rose to a new level when John started ‘Trail Talk’ on radio station CFZN-FM/Moose 93.5. This in-season, on-air segment is heard twice every Friday with the goal of updating snowmobilers on the club activities, reaching non-members/ volunteers about how the club brings visitor dollars to the area during the ‘down’ season, and getting other club material onto the air and into local homes.

Congratulations to the John on his much deserved award!
