OFSC Trails Set To Launch on BRP GO!

(Barrie, ON: November 12, 2021) – The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) is pleased to announce that the OFSC will share trail data on the BRP GO! navigation app for the 2021-22 season.

This new agreement enables the consistent and timely delivery of authorized Ontario trail availability information and data on BRP GO! App users will view this information in real-time as it appears on the OFSC Go Snowmobiling app, mirroring the Interactive Trail Guide (ITG) from December 1 to the end of each snowmobile season.

New Campaign Invites Ontario Snowmobilers To Take The Pledge This Winter

(Barrie, ON – November 8, 2021) – With winter fast approaching, thousands of Ontario sledders are answering an appeal from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) to join a groundswell movement to protect recreational OFSC snowmobile trails on private property, land access and landowners. This action will also help ensure that OFSC trails generate an economic impact of up to $3.3 Billion to assist Ontario’s economic recovery this season.

The OFSC request to snowmobilers supports the Take The Pledge social media campaign launched by the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA) throughout North America late last week. In an accompanying video, renown ambassadors and influencers from all snowmobile brands speak directly to their peers about only riding where it’s legal to do so.

Ontario Snowmobile Trail Permits Now Online!

(Barrie, ON: October 1, 2021) –  The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) launched early bird permit sales online on October 1st, giving riders an opportunity to save 30% on Seasonal Permits when purchased on or before November 1st, 2021. Driver Training to Continue Online Only For 2021-22 Season

Registration Available Now For Students 12 Years and Older

(Barrie, ON: September 27, 2021) – The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) is announcing that for the 2021-22 season, its popular Driver Training Program will continue to teach young riders the skills and habits necessary to be safe and courteous snowmobile operators entirely online.

With the 4th wave of the pandemic here, Online Driver Training continues to be the safest and most accessible virtual alternative to classroom instruction, which is not being offered to protect both instructors and their students during the pandemic. To continue the program without interruption, OFSC Driver Training course registration is now available online.

Annual General Meeting

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) held its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 18th. For the second consecutive year, we adapted the event to a virtual platform, adding special entertainment on Facebook Live the night before. A strong showing of delegates from over 85% of our member 183 snowmobile clubs attended AGM, which included an “Ask The Executive Committee” information session and our business meeting, hosted by Chair Harold McAdam.

Organized Snowmobiling Loses A Visionary Volunteer

In many ways, Brenda Welsh was the quintessential snowmobiling volunteer, truly representative of the tens of thousands whose past and present contributions keep organized snowmobiling alive and well in Ontario. She is you and you are her. The OFSC salutes each and every one of you. We hope that through this tribute, Brenda inspires more snowmobilers to volunteer for their local club.

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) and the entire Canadian snowmobiling community lost a major visionary and true friend on August 22, 2021 with the untimely passing of Brenda Welsh. A long-time club volunteer from Huntsville, Brenda made history on August 25, 2010 when she took office as the first female president of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs. In 2012, Brenda was honoured by the Government of Canada as a recipient of a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for two decades of volunteer work for organized snowmobiling in Canada. But her 34-year volunteer legacy continued far beyond these milestones.
